Let's Go Play at the SANDBAR!

What an exciting night on the Central Pacific coast with the opening of the SANDBAR a New Restaurant and Bar in Esterillos Oeste!  It has been an exciting few months since the news was shared that this "dream come true" was in process and soon we would be dining out enjoying some melt in your mouth Tex-Mex Cuisine and a nice assortment of liquid refreshments with good friends!  Mike & Julie have been busy preparing the menu, working on the remodel, stocking the bar and fridge as they excitedly worked toward the first night to OPEN the doors for everyone to stop in and share in their wonderful new home away from home!   

A little about the proprietors of this fine establishment....  Mike and Julie Textor  ...in a word... FUN!
Julie has been described as something similar to the energizer bunny.  She goes non-stop from the minute her feet hit the floor until she hits the pillow to refuel for the next days race.  With health and fitness high on her list it is not unusual to see her most every morning (early of course) getting her daily walk in at the beach before she starts her busy day.  And busy this girl is!  She has had her hand in many projects from marketing & promotion, hairstylist to the food service industry.   Mike is very well known in these parts for making many feel better with his chiropractic skills and drumming up a nice beat for the local rock band the Chupacabras and of course his great big surfers smile!

Friendly, Fun-loving, Outgoing, Energetic, Entertaining and Passionate along with the love of preparing Tasty, Good for You Food with only the freshest ingredients in a warm, friendly and cozy atmosphere is an instant recipe for SUCCESS! 

When we heard the news of the  opening night at the SANDBAR we headed on over with some friends for the "Happy Hour" with local beer for $1 and claimed our spot to enjoy the festivities and taste some of the specialties on the menu.  Our choices for the evening were the Traditional Fried Tacos with the shells fried up crunchy crisp and filled with beef, shredded cabbage, cheese and salsa and the Grilled Quesadilla filled with re-fried beans and 2 cheeses.  Top those off with some ice cold cervezas and Guaro sours and we were all set!  But our favorite part of the evening was enjoying the smiles on Mike & Julies faces and her delight when she checked up on us to confirm that the food was good and we all replied "Delicioso!"

And what a great night it was!  The turn out was as amazing as the food with many locals arriving steadily throughout the night to taste this new Tex-Mex fare with Julies special touch and share in the excitement of a Dream Come True!  A friend arrived with a Big Bouquet of beautiful tropical flowers for Mike and Julie which added to the specialness of the evening.  We were even entertained by a local artisan peddler crafting his wares from palm leafs into a humming bird, a rose and a safari hat!  It was fun to see some of our local amigos and meet some new ones. 

We are excited for Mike and Julie in their new journey as restaurateurs and look forward to dining out at the SANDBAR often.  We will be sure and let all of our friends and neighbors know about our newest choice in dining experiences.  If you are new to the area or just on vacation be sure and check it out!  Located in Esterillos Oeste just head down the main drag toward the beach and it is on the right next to the SuperSol.  The Sandbar is open Tuesday-Sunday from 4pm til . . .  Be sure and check out their page on Facebook to keep up with special happenings.
