All Hallows Eve in Jaco!

As Halloween rolled around while we were enjoying a cup of java when  we were greeted that morning by Juan who came to clean the pool in a scary mask!  Juan is a delightful spirit always wearing a big smile.  He was telling us about the Halloween parade that was held in Parrita the night before so we decided to go into Jaco for dinner that night and hopefully a few photo ops!  It is really not a historically celebrated holiday here but the influx of Gringos from the states has caused it to become an exciting time of costumes, parades and parties.   The bars and nightclubs take advantage of this opportunity to attract a crowd in to celebrate and many arrive in their various forms of creative disguise.

We arrived in Jaco just in time to head out to the beach and catch another beautiful sunset over the Pacific ocean.  There was still a big crowd hanging out from the day relaxing, walking on the beach and waiting for that magical drop of the sun behind the horizon.

We joined our  Canadians friends at the Poseidon Hotel, one of our favorite local restaurants  for dinner and cocktails.  After a wonderful dinner  of freshly caught whole fried fish and seared yellow fin tuna topped off with micheladas, a refreshing beer cocktail made with your favorite beer, lime juice and salt, we struck out camera in hand to record some memories of this special holiday we were spending in this interesting country.  And we were not disappointed!  

 

 

 

 

  

The children are so much fun to capture because they get very excited and run up to you wanting to see the results of their photo in the LCD screen and their parents continue to "thank you" for taking a picture of their beautiful child in their grand attire!

It was really a fun night and before we started our journey back to Playa Bejuco we decided to pop into POPS and grab some double dip ice cream cones for a nightcap!
