Sometimes the writing is on the wall!

What a fun night enjoying some of the finest cuisine that Jaco has to offer in an artsy atmosphere with great friends in celebration of our friends birthday!  We love our laid back lifestyle of casual living that typically includes lazy days with long walks on the beach, tending to our tropical gardens in out little piece of paradise, enjoying an ice cold cerveza or glass of vino while watching an amazing sunset or gathering up at a neighbors house for a little potluck dining.  All easy breezy, no fuss casual that makes life tranquil and relaxing.

But sometimes when it is one of those special occasions that calls for a little hoopla and a toast or two for someone special we put on our dress up flip flops and our prettiest tank tops and we head up to Jaco to order up a fine bottle of wine, a tuna tartare tower or two, a little sushi and the chefs special Catch of the Day!  On this particular birthday night out the choice was one of our favorites Grafitti restro cafe and wine bar . . . where you will always want to be sure and try my favorite dish of the house Tuna Tartare Tower served with crispy fried plantain chips.  It includes a generous portion so it serves as an excellent appetizer for 2 or 3 hungry diners.

The menu offers many options and they specialize in their ever popular Coffee and Cacao Crusted Beef Tenderloin (good cooked steak is hard to find in this country) which we have had before and truly is divine, but when you are living on the coast and the freshest of fish is always readily available it is nice to have it cooked up by this creative chef.  My choice of the evening was the Macadamia Crusted Catch of the Day with a braised Leek and Miso Sake Glaze.  OMG was it delish!

Great atmosphere, prompt friendly service from our adorable waitress who certainly new her wine menu, perfectly cooked entrees and a melt in your mouth chocolate mousse served over glazed apples definitely put a smile on our faces.  A toast to another year of Pura Vida happiness for the birthday girl was the perfect way to top off the evening.

I can't wait for someone else to have a birthday so we can do it again!  . . .  but wait a minute . . . we don't have to wait for a special occasion . . . we can just head over to Graffiti anytime to get a Tuna Tartare fix!

Happy Birthday Diana!
...and Thank You Graffiti for a lovely evening!

Oh and did I mention that the owner chef has some roots in Sweet Home Alabama?
That makes him A - OK in my book!  ;o)
